ELIJAH
by Felix Mendelssohn
On Saturday, April 26 at 7:00pm, Walnut Hills Vocal Ensemble will be joined by professional vocal soloists to perform Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio, Elijah, accompanied by piano and pipe organ. The performance will take place at the Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church: 1345 Grace Ave, Cincinnati, OH, 45208.
Admission is free (this has changed since the poster was created).
Since its first performance in 1846, Elijah has been recognized as one of the greatest oratorios ever composed. The Old Testament story of the prophet Elijah speaks to struggle in the face of adversity, and Mendelssohn’s brilliant music brings the story to life through its power, beauty, and intense drama.
